Throw moderation to the wind!

I've noticed an interesting difference between campaign ads in Nashville and campaign ads here in the DC area. Democrats here actually own up to things like their support for stem-cell research and raising the minimum wage. Imagine! They even have the audacity to make such claims on television! None of that Harold Ford I-think-marriage-is-between-a-man-and-a-woman-b/c-I-can't-get-a-vote-otherwise crap from timid red-state liberals. I laugh at myself that I'm so taken aback by these brazen urban politicians. Ah, the east coast....

i disagree with the red state-blue state thing--i read an article recently about how that whole culture was started as a campaign idea by conservatives.

i'm sure that things are different in a democrat stronghold as opposed to a battleground state like TN and a city like Nashville which has always been mostly blue (even in suburbs) until recent years. now the city is still blue but it is strangled by a red ring in the suburbs.

Indeed... scary Williamson county... I'm not sure that I'm saying anything about actual beliefs of red vs. blue floks-- of course, anyone can be vehemently right or left regardless of region of residence. I was merely talking about the difference in the awareness of audience that these tv commercials have.
