words eaten

So, OK, I've been badmouthing Laura from Project Runway all over other people's blogs-- and my own. All, I have to say is that last nite's dress, with the ostrich feathers and the fun lace and it being so short and so something Laura herself wouldn't look so good in-- well, I LOVED that dress! and it was a well-deserved win, despite her hormonal histrionics. Michael's showing was, as always, superb. Vincent's was, as always, atrocious and I'm glad his original bootage stuck. I was disappointed in Jeffrey-- that thing wasn't so much didn't look so much like a stylish cocktail dress-- but rather something out of the new 80s retro-section of the Victoria's Secret clothing catalog. He could have done so much better! I'm still saying Michael and Jeffrey are the top two-- and 3rd place is now an official toss-up between the two Miss Predictabilities.

Yeah, I know-- I wish I knew something about screenwriting b/c I think Entering Fire would make just about the funniest damn movie ever. She's just amazing. You know that old workshop trick where you ask yourself if you wish you'd written it? When I found her, that was the first thing I thought. But I'm too... literal? too... mundane?

I'm giving Laura's dress a positive review too, although I probably liked Michael's better for the more sophisticated silouette. Laura is still conservative. However, she did step out of the box. And Uli's dress, if they shortened the sleeves, could be really fun. It almost looked like Heidi was wearing an Uli dress at the beginning ... a short shift made of what looked like a patterened silk? Anyway, I think the strongest designers are left.

I think I mostly liked Laura's dress b/c I thought I would look good in it. So, there. That's my confession. Most of those things with the really high fitted waist would look retarded on my short-waisted little body. Generally, I think it's good if I look like I have a torso...But that dress w/ the feathers and whatnot was far more flattering to a greater variety of bodies, i thought. And where was it that I recently saw/read/heard called Heidi "Lolita?" W/ the twisty things she's been doing w/ her hair lately, I think that's dead on-- or at least aligned w/ the Dominique Swain version...And that phenomenal giggle. Oh, I love Heidi!
